Question 273302: What's the purpose of polynomials, and why do we need to learn it? I doubt we will use it in life.
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It depends on what you do in life.

If you go to college and become an engineer or a scientist, chances are you will use it.

If you become an auto mechanic, or drive a truck, then you probably won't.

Even if you become a network engineer, you might not use them.

It's mostly for people who will go on to higher education and will get jobs where they will be designing things.

If you get a job as a teacher of mathematics, then you will certainly use it.
