Question 268682: If Bob is two years older than Tom and the product of their ages is 528, what are their ages?
Answer by palanisamy(496) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the age of Tom = x
Then the age of Bob = x+2
Given, x(x+2) = 528
x^2+2x-528 = 0
(x+24)(x-22)=0
x=-24 or x=22
x cannot be negative.
S0 x=22
The age of Tom = 22
The age of Bob = x+2=24
