Answer by ashben2000(1) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, factor the problem out!
2x^2-x-3/ 3x^2+7x+4 * 3x^2-11x-20/ 4x^2-9
You will get
(2x-3)(x+1)/(3x+4)(x+1) * (3x+4)(x-5)/(2x+3)(2x-3)
Cancel Out the top numbers with the bottom numbers on either side and your left with
x-5/2x+3

Tosimplify problems of this type you need to be able to
factor the various parts of the problem. If you can do
that the problem will look like this:
[(2x+3)(x-1)/[(3x+4)(x+1)] * [(3x+4)(x-5)]/[(2x-3)(2x+3)]
Now you can cancel factors that are common to a numerator
and a denominator such as (2x+3) and (3x+4).
Then you end up with the following:
[(x-1)/(x+1)]
You can't simplify that any further.
Cheers,
