Question 260817: the perimeter of a rectangle is 280cm the length is 20cm more than the width. what are the demensions of the rectangle
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=W+20
2L+2W=280
2(W+20)+2W=280
2W+40+2W=280
4W=280-40
4W=240
W=240/4
W=60 ANS. FOR THE WIDTH.
L=60+20=80 ANS. FOR THE LENGTH.
PROOF:
2*80+2*60=280
160+120=280
280=280
