Question 255805: Solving polynomial equations!
2t^4-5t^2+3=0

Answer by Greenfinch(383)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Think of this as a quadratic in t^2. Call s = t^2
Then the equation becomes 2s^2 - 5s +3 = 0
Which factorises to (2s - 3)(s - 1) =0
So s = 3/2 or 1
Thus t^2 = s so t^2 = 3/2 or 1
so t = +/- sqrt (3/2) or +/- 1
