Question 253357: How can I factor the polynomial: 4x^4-5x^2-9 ?
Answer by Greenfinch(383)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Set x^2 = y
Now we have 4y^2 - 5y - 9
(4y - 9)(y + 1)= 0
y = 9/4 or -1
so x^2 = 9/4 or -1
x = +- 3/2 or +- i
