First thing is to write everything in descending order and not to skip any terms: we have:

we solve X + 6 = 0 for x to get x = 6. Now we are ready.

. . . 1. . 0 . . . 1 . . 0.
So, if all of this works correctly, you will see
X^2 + 1 with no remainder.
