Question 240452: I have been trying to simplify this problem, but I am not sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The problem is:
x-1/x^2+1 times x^4-1/(x-1)^2 times x^2-1/x^4-2x^2+1
Thank you for your time.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The problem is:
[(x-1)/(x^2+1)] times [(x^4-1)/(x-1)^2] times [(x^2-1)/(x^4-2x^2+1)]
------------------------------------------------------------------
Factor where you can; cancel any factor common to a numerator and a denom.
-----------------------------
[1/1] times [1/(x-1)]
times [1/1]
-----------------------------------------------------
= 1/(x-1)
