There is no equation for long division. Do you mean the steps or the process for long division?

Step 1: Divide the first term into the first, and place in the quotient.
Step 2: Multiply this quantity times the divisor.
Step 3: Change the signs
Step 4: Add
Step 5: Bring down the next term(s)
Step 6: Repeat the first 5 steps
