Question 229798: Complete each step of the factorization of the trinomial by grouping.
15t^2 - 11t - 12
= 15t^2 + 9t - 20t - 12 [I inserted a "9" here, and it is correct]
= 3t( 5t + 3 ) ______ 4( 5t + 3 ) [I have no idea what to insert]
= ( 5t + 3 )( 3t + 4 )[I inserted a "5t+3" here, and it is correct]
Please help.
Thank you,
Jerry

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20059)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

= 3t(5t + 3) ______ 4(5t + 3) [I have no idea what to insert]
Just insert a negative or minus sign, because you are factoring -4 out
of the two terms -20t - 12 getting -4(5t+3). So that step is simply:

3t(5t + 3) - 4(5t + 3)
