p^2-9 factors into--> (p+3)(p-3)
p^2-6p+9 factors into--> (p-3)(p-3)
To check, first do FOIL. If they foil to be ur original equations, u have factored correctly.

cross out the terms; p-3 and p-3; remember, if the top AND bottom have same equations, then CROSS.
