Question 22491: factor (x+2)^2 -4
Answer by queenofit(120) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First I would rewrite the problem like this
(x+2)(x+2)-4
this gives you something to work with, use foil on the first two numbers and subtract the 4
x^2+2x+2x+4 -4
combine your like terms
x^2+4x
now you can factor out an x from this problem
x(x+4)
now solve for x from both problems
x=0
x+4=o x=-4
