Question 220588: Simplify 5w(w^2-7w+3)+2w(2+19w-2w^2
Answer by likaaka(51)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5w(w^2-7w+3)+2w(2+19w-2w^2)
First you distribute the 5w into the first polynomial
5w(w^2-7w+3)
5w^3-35w^2+15w
Now distribute the 2w into the second polynomial **be aware that this number is positive, had it been negative you would distribute a -2w into the polynomial
2w(2+19w-2w^2)
4w+38w^2-4w^2
Put them back together with the addition
5w^3-35w^2+15w + 4w+38w^2-4w^3, I just reorganized it so that the like terms are grouped
5w^3-4w^3-35w^2+38w^2+15w+4w, combine like terms
w^3+3w^2+19w
