first you must use foil on both portions of the equation
x^2 + x -20 = (x+5)(x-4)
X^2 - 9x + 20 = (x-5)(x-4)
I assume you know how to use foil...If not you can ask me...
crossing out only leaves you with
x + 5

x - 5
