Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Reduce each expression to lowest terms
(-2x - 8)/(x^2 + 2x - 8)
Factor to get:
(-2(x+4))/[(x+4)(x-2)]
Cancel the common factor of x+4 to get:
-2/(x-2)
----------------------------
and
Perform indicated operation
(3/(a^2 + a) x (2a + 2)/6)
= 3/(a(a+1)) x (2(a+1))/6
Cancel the common 2,3 and (a+1) to get:
= 1/a
