Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is a classic factoring by grouping problem! Group the first two and the last two terms and factor the common factor in each grouping:
nx-ny+12x-12y
n(x-y) + 12(x-y)
Take out the common factor of (x-y):
(x-y)(n+12)
For additional help in factoring, see the newly posted videos of me teaching this very important topic!! Go to my website, by clicking on my tutor name "Rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com. Look for the link "Rapalje Videos", select "Basic Algebra" and then choose the "Factoring" link! It's all free, just like algebra.com!!
