Question 205762: I need your help, please, on a linear equation involving fractions. My problem is 3 over 4 = 1 - 3x-2/x+1. I know I need to find a common denominator, which I think is 4(x+1). Am I right so far? I've done this problem 5 times and came up with 5 different answers. Help....

3/4 = 1 - (3x-2)/(x+1)
4(x+1) is the common denominator
Multiply thru by the DEN
3(x+1) = 4(x+1) - 4(3x-2)
-(x+1) = -4(3x-2)
x+1 = 12x-8
-11x = -9
x = 9/11
