(2x-1)(x-2)=2x^2-x-4x+2=2x^2-5x+2
2x^2-5x+2=5
2x^2-5x-3=0
(2x+1)(x-3)=0
x-3=0
x=3
2*3-1=6-1=5 is the length of the pool.
3-1=2 is the width of the pool.
Proof:
(2*3-1)(3-2)=5
(6-1)(3-2)=5
5*1=5
5=5

Finding A(5) does not mean find the rectangle which has an area of 5. It means find the area of the rectangle when x = 5. So I believe another tutor's solution to your problem is incorrect for this part of the problem.
