Factoring is a very simple task.

x^2-6x-27
To factor this, you must know factors of 27.
BUT when you add the together you have to get -6
So lets start listing them.
1-27
3-9
9-3
27-1
Now lets see which one adds to -6.
That's right 3 and - 9.
Now you put it into the format which is (x-...)(x+...)
The final result will be
(x+3)(x-9)
