I remember when I use to do these.
They were a pain in the @$$.
They are actually quite easy, it just requires a lot or work.
(x^2-4x+7)+(3x^2-9)-(x^2+3x+8)
The first step will be combining like terms, this means take all the same numbers and group them.
(x^2+3x^2-x^2)(4x-3x)(7-9-8)
From here you just add and subtract.
(3x^3)+(x)-(10)
So your answer will be
3x^2+x-10
