Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=2W-4
AREA=LW
48=(2W-4)W
48=2W^2-4W
2W^2-4W-48=0
2(W^2-2W-24)=0
2(W-6)(W+4)=0
W-6=0
W=6 ANS. FOR THE WIDTH.
L=2*6-4
L=12-4
L=8 ANS.
PROOF:
48=8*6
48=48
