Question 193683: Please help me explain the following question and provide an example. I'm not sure how to explain.
Explain the following in your own words: (a + b)2 ≠ a2 + b2 . Give a numerical example to illustrate this.

Answer by RAY100(1637)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(a+b)^2vs a^2+b^2
but (a+b)^2=(a+b)(a+b)=a^2+2ab+b^2=a^2+b^2+2ab
therefore (a+b)^2 not equal a^2+b^2
for example let a=3,,,,b=4
(3+4)^2 vs 3^2+4^2
7^2 vs 9+16
49 vs 25
definetly not equal
