(-8c^2+4c+2)-(6c^2+2)

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-8c^2+4c+2)-(6c^2+2)
.
Distribute the negative to terms inside the right parenthesis:
-8c^2+4c+2-6c^2-2
.
Group like-terms:
(-8c^2-6c^2)+4c+(2-2)
.
Combine:
(-14c^2)+4c+(0)
.
-14c^2+4c
Or, factoring out 2c:
2c(-7c + 2)
