Question 190522: Can you PLEASE help me?????

Solve the equation by graphing. Find the solution algebraically to verify your graph. Are there any values for x that are not found in the domain? In other words, are there any values for x that make the equation undefined? What are they?

Let's start with the last part of your question -- the part regarding the domain. You should be able to see that there are two values that would cause one or the other denominator to be zero. Those are the two values that make this equation, and the function we will create out of it, undefined.

Solving this by graphing is extremely difficult because you would have to know where the x-intercept was and then graph it with a very odd looking scaling. That's because the graph approaches the x-axis very slowly and unless the granularity of the y-axis scaling is down in the of a unit, you won't be able to see it.

Let's solve it algebraically:

Cross multiply:

In order to graph this at all, you need to express it as a function. Add to both sides, then set the right side equal to f(x).
