I did not read your problem correctly on my 1st response.
Hopefully, the following is what you meant in your post.

5y-(1/y)+5 - 2y-(5/y)+5
---
Combine "like" terms:
= (5y-2y)+(-1/y-5/y)+(5+5)
---
= 3y -(6/y) + 10
or
= [3y^2-6+10y]/y
=====================
