Use your graphing calculator to find how many seconds before the projectile hits the ground. Let , or factor and solve for t algebraically.
a. 0 seconds
b. 50 seconds
-----------------
= -16t^2 + 800t
16t^2 = 800t
y1 = 0 at t = 0 and at t = 50
t = 0 is the time of the launch.
t = 50 is the time of return.
t = 50 seconds
b. 50 seconds
