Question 188965: Factor using GCF
1.k*k+7k-30
2. 2x*x+11x+5

Factor using GCF
1.k*k+7k-30
= k^2 + 7k - 30
= (k+10)(k-3)
-------------------------
2. 2x*x+11x+5
= 2x^2 + 11x + 5
= 2x^2+ 10x + x + 5
= 2x(x+5)+(x+5)
= (x+5)(2x+1)
-------------------------
3. The area of a rectangle is (8x*x+8x+2) cm. The width of the rectangle is (2x+1) cm. What is the length of the rectangle?
-----
Area/width = length
(8x^2+8x+2)/(2x+1) = length
[(2x+1)(4x+2)/(2x+1)] = length
length = 4x + 2
