This is what I did, but I am not sure it is correct.



-2 = 3x

is what you have written .it should be
I AM SURE IT IS A SLIP IN TYPING AS THE LATER WORKING IS CORRECT
NOW ON TO A BETTER ALTERNATIVE...GOLDEN RULE LIZZY IS "LOOK FOR COMMON FACTORS"
we have 1/x common so take it out in the begining
we get from..
=(1/x)(5-3)=3
or (1/x)2=3...cross multiplying 1*2=3*x..or x=2/3..as YOU HAVE GOT CORRECTLY..HOPE IT IS CLEAR..KEEP IT UP!!

Well...think about this, you are subtracting two fractions and and you'll notice that they have a common the denominator of x, so, you can just subtract the two fractions.


Multiply both sides by x.
Finally, divide both sides by 3.

The solution is
Check: = = 3 OK.
