Question 179232: 4y+12 3y+6
----- * -----
y+2 2y-1
I was confused on how to multiply these since they are fractions. How do you get the Greatest Common Factor for the denominator? What would it be and how would you simplify this? Would you factor out numerator 1st?
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
*
:
You can multiply like any fraction, numerator times numerator, denominators the same
However, we can factor here, thus simplifying things by canceling like terms
*
cancel y+2, and you have:
4(y+3) * =
