Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(2 – 3x + x^3) – (–1 – 4x + x^2)
First, distribute the negative sign to terms inside second parenthesis:
(2 – 3x + x^3) + 1 + 4x - x^2
Next, remove left parenthesis:
2 – 3x + x^3 + 1 + 4x - x^2
Group terms:
x^3 - x^2 + (4x-3x) + (2+1)
x^3 - x^2 + x + 3
