You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First you subtract the two from both sides so that would then be 1/3x=4 and then divide 4 by 1/3 and you get your answer which is 12.

You can do it this way also:
Start canceling positives or negatives isolating the X. Here substract 2 in bouth sides so the +2 that is on the X side cancels.
1/3X + 2 -2 = 6 -2
1/3X = 4
Now you can cancel 1/3 by the opposite, multiply that by 3 in bouth sides two then:
3 * 1/3X = 4 * 3
3/3X = 12
Three over Three cancels
X = 12

there is an error on the last line of this... The full solution is:
%281%2F%283x%29%29+%2B+2+=+6 assuming this is the equation?
%281%2F%283x%29%29+=+4. Now, cross multiply the x and the 4. Basically, they swap places, giving 1%2F12+=+x
so the answer is x = 1/12
cheers

basically you need x to equal 4, 6-2=4, so what times 1/3 equals 4, the answer is 12
