Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/y=y/(5y-12) CROSS MULTIPLY
Y^2=3(5Y-12)
Y^2=15Y-36
Y^2-15Y+32=0
Using the quadratic equation: we get:
y=(15+-sqrt[-15^2-4*1*32])/2*1
y=(15+-sqrt[225-128])/2
y=(15+-sqrt97)/2
y=(15+-9.9488)/2
y=(15+9.9488)/2
y=24.8488/2
y=12.42 answer.
y=(15-9.9488)/2
y=5.0512/2
y=2.53 answer.
