(x+3)/6=3/8+(x-5)/4
4(x+3)/24=3*3/24+6(x-5)]/24
(4x+12)/24=9/24+(6x-30)/24
4x+12=9+6x-30
4x-6x=9-30-12
-2x=-33
x=-33/-2
x=16.5 answer.
Proof:
(16.5+3)/6=3/8+(16.5-5)/4
19.5/6=3/8+11.5/4
3.25=.375+2.875
3.25=3.25
