2a^2+2/(a+1)(a-1)
2(a^2+1)/(a+1)(a-1)

I used the LCM of (a+1)(a-1)
(a-1)(a-1)/(a+1)(a-1) + (a+1)(a+1)/(a+1)(a-1)
[a^2-2a+1+a^2+2a+1]/(a+1)(a-1)
2a^2+2/[(a+1)(a-1)]
[2(a^2+1)]/[(a+1)(a-1)]
