The way I solved it was this way: 3(x-5)+7=16 3x-15+7=16 3x-22=16 3x-22+22=16+22 which equals to 3x=38, but I have the feeling it's wrong. Please help me, thank you=)

Distribute.
Combine like terms on the left side.
Add to both sides.
Combine like terms on the right side.
Divide both sides by to isolate .
Reduce.
