how do you solve 8y^2-12y+4=y+10
-----------
Rearrange:
8y^2-13y-6 = 0
Use the AC Method:
8y^2 - 16y + 3y -6 = 0
8y(y-2) + 3(y-2) = 0
(y-2)(8y+3) = 0
y = 2 or y = -3/8
