A rectangular parking lot is 50 ft longer than it is wide. Determine the dimensions of the parking lot if it measures 250 ft diagonally.

Let width = w. Then length = w+50
diagonal = 250
Use Pythagorean theorem.




Use quadratic equation and solve. a = 1, b = 50 c = -30000
