I think you meant .  You don't say, so I'm going to assume that you mean polynomial long division.

First term of divisor into first term of dividend
Partial quotient times divisor
   Subtract and bring down next term
Divide by first term of divisor again
  
  
   Multiply by new quotient term
  
  
     Subtract leaving remainder
