Question 121988: Solve the following eauation for K.
9/2k-3=4/k+1
(2k-3)(k+1)9/2k-3=4/k+1(2k-3)(k+1)
9k+9=8k-12
9k-8k=-12-9
k=-21
But when you check it, it will not work with negative 21. However it will check out with a positive 21. I must be missing a sign somewhere.

Read again but is all right when you check it
in 9/(2k-3)=4/(k+1) k=-21
-1/5 = -1/5
