please help me solve the equation by factoring.

Answer by tutorcecilia(2152)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-x+xsquared=56
=56
=0 [subtract 56 from both sides; set the equation equal to zero]
(x-8)(x+7)=0 [factor]
x-8=0 [set each factor equal to zero and solve for the x-value]
x=8
and
x+7=0
x=-7
