k can be any number that has 2 factors that differ by 1'
examples are:
2*3=6 (x^2+x-6)=(x-2)(x+3)
7*8=56 (x^2+x-56)=(x-7)(x+8)
9*10=90 (x^2+x-90)=(x+10)(x-9)
