The equation as shown can be interpreted in two different ways:

5%2F3-3%2F2x+=+3%2F2

or

5%2F3-%283%2F2%29x+=+3%2F2

You will find wide disagreement as to whether, in the expression "3/2x", the x is in the numerator or denominator.

My TI83 calculator interprets this with x as a multiplier, using standard order of operations (division and multiplication in order, left to right: "3, divided by 2, multiplied by x"). But the software used on this site interprets "2x" as the denominator of the fraction: "3, divided by (2 times x)".

In any case, since I don't know what the equation really is, I can't help you with your question.

Some possible lack of clarity in your equation so if exactly as your wrote it, the equation may be 5%2F3-3%2F%282x%29=3%2F2.

Multiply both sides by 2%2A3%2Ax to clear the denominators.

10x-9=9x

x-9=0

highlight%28x=9%29
You can check if this is the correct value if substitute back in the original equation and find if statement is true.
