Question 114981: Hi , can you help me with a division of polynomials problem?
(x-3) divided by (3x^3-11x+10x-12)
I keep on getting confused on when you have to bring down the numbers and doing the next step.This problem is not in the book ,it's from a handout. I looked in the book for examples but I still mess it up somewhere down the line. Could you show me an easier way to do this if any.
Thankyou
Laurie
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x-3) divides (3x^3-11x^2+10x-12)
==============
If you are using synthetic division you get:
3)....3....-11....10....-12
.......3.....-2.....4...|..0
Remainder: 0
Quotient: 3x^2-2x+4
