4(x+2)* = 4(x+2)(3) - 4(x+2)(2x) - 4(x+2)*

Cancel the denominators, multiply where needed
x + 2 = 12(x + 2)- 8x(x+2) - 4

x + 2 = 12x + 24 - 8x^2 - 16x - 4

x + 2 = -8x^2 - 4x + 20
