Question 1124184: Help needed please.
Original equation:
x+2/5-x divided by x^2-5x-14/x^2-2x-15
change into multiplication
x+2/5-x * x^2-2x-15/x^2-5x-14
from there:
x+2/(-x-5) * (x+3)(x-5)/(x+2)(x-7)
from there:
1/-(x-5) * (x-3)(x-5)/x-7
Which lead to an overall answer of:
-x+3/x-7
is this correct?
Thank you

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+2/5-x divided by x^2-5x-14/x^2-2x-15
----------------
You can check:
(x+2)/(5-x) divided by (x^2-5x-14)/(x^2-2x-15)
Sub values for x:
Sub 0
(2/5)/(-14/-15) = -30/-70 = 3/7
----------
For the result:
-x+3/x-7 --> -3/7
So it's not correct.
=============
Using this method to check will easily show if it's not correct, but will sometimes show no difference when it is not correct.
