SOLUTION: I really need some help describing and correcting the error.
r^2-7r+12/ r+4 divided by r^2-7r+12/r^2+6r+8
= (r-3)(r-4)/r+4 divided by (r-4)(r-3)/(r+2)(r+4)
=r+4/(r-3)(r-4)
Question 1107867: I really need some help describing and correcting the error.
r^2-7r+12/ r+4 divided by r^2-7r+12/r^2+6r+8
= (r-3)(r-4)/r+4 divided by (r-4)(r-3)/(r+2)(r+4)
=r+4/(r-3)(r-4)*(r-4)(-3)/(r+2)(r+4)
=1/r+2
Thanks Found 2 solutions by stanbon, TeachMath:Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website! I really need some help describing and correcting the error.
[r^2-7r+12]/ [r+4] divided by [r^2-7r+12]/[r^2+6r+8]
-------
= (r^2+6r+8)/(r+4)
-------
= [(r+4)(r+2)]/(r+4)
Note:: The graph of this would be the line y = r+2 with
a hole at r = -4.

Answer by TeachMath(96) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website! Your 3rd line is wrong. You FLIPPED the 1st fraction instead of the 2nd.
Redo the 3rd line by FLIPPING the 2nd fraction, and you should end up with: r + 2
