Here is how I thought I was supposed to do this but I am not getting the right answer.
Combine like terms:
7x^2 + 4x = 11x^2
7xy + 4x+4y = 15xy
15xy + 11x^2
That is as far as I got. Am I even close? Please help? Thank You!

7x(x+y)+4(x+y)
(7x+4)(x+y)
I think this is what they meant.

Factor by grouping:
Group the terms as shown below:
Now factor 7x from the 1st group and 4 from the 2nd group.
Finally, factor the common factor (x+y)
...and there it is!
