Question 102446: What is a polynomial containing two terms that can be factored a second time after factoring out the GCF. This means that the two-term polynomial, after factoring out the GCF, can be factored furter. Explain how you constructed this polynomial.
Thank You
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x) = 2x(x^2-4) = 2x^3-8x
----------------------------
The polynomial you want is 2x^3-8x
which factors as 2x(x^2-4) = 2x(x-2)(x+2)
================
How do you contruct it?
Take the product of any monomial and a factorable binomial.
Eg: 7x(x^2-9) or 3x(x^2-16) etc.

stan H.
