Question 102185: I cannot find
If y varies directly as x, and x is halved, how is y changed?
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
direct variation means that what happens to one variable also happens to the other
the general equation is y=kx, where k is the "constant of variation"
solving for k gives k=y/x
since k is constant; if x is halved, y must also be halved to maintain the constant
