Question 100893: The problem is:
[(3y-4)/(49-y^2)] + [(2y+1)/(y-7)]
I know i need to find the LCD but somehow my answer doesnt match the one in the back of the book. My answer is (2y^2+18y-3)/[(y-7)(y+7)]. Can you please help me! Thank you!

your technique looks OK ... did you multiply the first numerator by -1? ... y^2-49=(-1)(49-y^2)

(2y+1)(y+7)=2y^2+15y+7

2y^2+15y+7-3y+4=2y^2+12y+11
